Possible Causes

Main brush jammed with hair or debris, Worn main brush end bearings, Faulty main brush motor, Damaged main brush motor driver on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch the robot OFF and remove it from the dock before working underneath it.

  • Remove the main brush: Open the main brush cover on the underside of the Philips robot. Lift out the main roller brush.
  • Clean thoroughly: Cut away hair and threads from the brush bristles and both end caps. Use a small brush or tweezers to remove debris from the brush housing and suction channel.
  • Check brush bearings: Spin the end caps with your fingers. They should rotate freely. If they feel rough or seized, clean them and apply a tiny amount of dry lubricant, or replace the brush assembly.
  • Inspect motor cavity: Look into the brush motor slot for trapped debris or foreign objects that could block the motor shaft. Remove any obstructions carefully.
  • Reinstall and test: Refit the main brush and close the cover securely. Turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. Listen for abnormal grinding or squealing.
  • If E2 persists: The main brush motor or its driver circuit on the main PCB may be failing. At this point, replacement of the main brush motor module or main control board is recommended by a qualified technician.
