Possible Causes

Clogged air duct or filter, Dust bin not seated correctly, Blocked suction inlet, Failed suction motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and disconnect it from the dock before opening any covers.

  • Empty the dust bin: Remove the dust container from the Philips robot and empty it completely.
  • Clean or replace filters: Take out the pre-filter and HEPA or fine dust filter. Tap them gently over a trash can to remove dust. If washable, rinse with cold water and allow to dry fully (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling. Never run the robot with wet filters.
  • Check suction path: Inspect the dust bin inlet, main brush channel, and any internal ducts for blockages. Remove clumps of dust, pet hair, or foreign objects.
  • Re-seat the bin: Reinstall the dust bin firmly until it clicks. Some Philips models will show E5 if the bin is not fully engaged.
  • Test suction: Turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. Listen for the suction motor. If it does not start or stops quickly with E5, the motor may be overheating or failing.
  • Persistent E5: Continued E5 after cleaning suggests a failing suction motor or a fault on the main PCB. Replacement of the suction motor assembly should be performed by a qualified technician.
