Possible Causes
Right wheel encoder disc dirty or damaged, Loose encoder sensor, Faulty right drive motor, Broken wiring to right wheel module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and place it upside down on a padded surface.
- Clean right wheel area: Remove any hair, threads, or debris wrapped around the right wheel axle and inside the wheel well.
- Check suspension: Press the right wheel up and down to confirm free movement.
- Spin test: Rotate the right wheel by hand. It should move smoothly without binding.
- Restart and test: Turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. If E9 reappears quickly, the encoder or motor is likely faulty.
- Connector check (advanced): If out of warranty and comfortable opening the unit, remove the bottom cover and verify the right wheel module connector is secure on the main board.
- Seek service: Ongoing E9 errors typically require replacement of the right wheel motor assembly by a professional.
