Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot off using the power switch (if present) or hold the power/clean button until it shuts down. Remove the robot from the charging dock before working on it.
Step-by-step:
- Relocate the robot: Pick up the robot and place it in an open area away from tight corners, under furniture edges, or reflective glass walls. Restart the robot and try a spot clean.
- Inspect the LDS turret: On most Roborock models (S5, S6, S7, S8, Q series, etc.), the round turret on top houses the laser. Check that it can rotate freely by gently nudging it. It should spin smoothly without grinding or sticking.
- Clean the LDS window: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to wipe the transparent window around the turret. Do not use water or solvents directly on the turret.
- Remove debris around turret: Check the gap between the turret and the top cover for hair, threads, or dust buildup. Use tweezers or a soft brush to remove any obstruction.
- Reboot the robot: Power the robot off for 30–60 seconds, then power it back on. Start a cleaning cycle from the app or the physical button.
If the error persists: The LDS motor or sensor may be failing. Avoid disassembling the turret unless you are experienced; contact Roborock support or a qualified technician for LDS module replacement.
