Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around main brush, Debris jammed in brush end caps, Worn or seized main brush bearings, Foreign object stuck in brush housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot and flip it over. Remove the dustbin to avoid accidental spills.
Step-by-step:
- Remove main brush cover: Release the brush guard latch and lift off the cover.
- Take out the main brush: Pull the brush straight up. Remove hair, threads, and debris from the bristles and both end caps.
- Clean end caps and bearings: On Roborock brushes, the end caps can usually be pulled off. Remove hair wrapped around the shafts and inside the caps. Wipe with a dry cloth.
- Inspect brush housing: Check inside the brush channel for stuck objects (toys, stones, etc.). Remove anything obstructing rotation.
- Reinstall brush: Seat the square and round ends correctly into their sockets, reinstall the cover, and ensure it clicks into place.
- Reset and test: Power on the robot and run a spot clean to verify the brush spins normally.
If the error returns with a clean brush: The main brush motor or gearbox may be failing and may need replacement.
