Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around wheel axle, Debris lodged in wheel well, Damaged wheel gearbox, Foreign object jammed under wheel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot and place it upside down on a soft surface.
Step-by-step:
- Inspect both drive wheels: Rotate each wheel by hand. They should turn smoothly with some resistance from the gearbox.
- Remove wrapped debris: Use scissors and tweezers to cut and pull away hair, threads, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheel axles.
- Check wheel wells: Look for small objects (stones, toys, etc.) jammed around the wheels. Remove any obstructions.
- Test suspension: Press each wheel up and down to ensure the suspension moves freely. Clean any dirt buildup around the moving parts.
- Power cycle and test: Turn the robot back on and run a short cleaning cycle in an open area.
If one wheel still binds or the error recurs: The wheel motor or gearbox may be failing and the entire wheel module may need replacement.
