Auto‑Docking Failure
Robot vacuum does not return to the charging base at the end of cleaning
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Charging base placed in poor location, Dirty IR docking sensors, Weak Wi‑Fi or mapping errors, Faulty IR transmitter on dock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep the area around the dock clear to avoid tripping hazards.
- 1. Reposition dock: Place the dock against a wall with at least 1.5 m (5 ft) clear in front and no obstacles or furniture blocking the line of sight.
- 2. Clean IR windows: Wipe the front of the dock and the robot's docking sensor window with a soft cloth.
- 3. Map recalibration: Delete and recreate the home map if the robot consistently gets lost.
- 4. Manual docking test: Place the robot a few meters in front of the dock and press Home. If it still fails to dock, the dock's IR transmitter or robot's receiver may be faulty.
