Possible Causes
Dirty charging contacts on robot, Dirty contacts on dock, Misaligned infrared docking beacon, Failed docking sensor on robot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charging dock before cleaning contacts.
- Clean charging contacts: On both the robot and the dock, gently clean the metal contacts with a dry cloth. If there is oxidation, use a lightly dampened cloth and dry completely.
- Check dock placement: Place the dock against a wall on a flat surface with at least 0.5 m (1.5 ft) clearance on each side and 1.5 m (5 ft) in front. Avoid direct sunlight on the dock sensors.
- Verify dock power: Plug the dock directly into a wall outlet. Confirm the dock indicator light is on.
- Test return‑to‑dock: Start the robot and press the Home/Recharge button. Observe whether it can see and approach the dock. If it wanders or stops with C05, the docking IR sensor or main PCB may be faulty.
