Possible Causes
Dirty docking IR receiver window, Dock's IR emitters blocked, Misaligned dock placement, Faulty docking sensor board in robot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the charging dock before handling.
- Clean dock and robot sensors: Wipe the IR windows on the front of the dock and the corresponding sensor area on the robot with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check dock placement: Ensure the dock is on a flat surface with at least 3 feet (1 m) of clear space in front and 1.5 feet (0.5 m) on each side.
- Reconnect power: Plug the dock back in and confirm the power indicator is lit.
- Test docking: Place the robot about 3–6 feet (1–2 m) in front of the dock and press the Dock button.
If E8 persists and the dock is known good, the robot's docking sensor board may need replacement.
