Shark Wheel or Caster Friction Noise

Robot vacuum squeaks or chirps when moving

Advertisements

Possible Causes

Dust and hair in wheel axles, Dry caster bearing, Worn wheel bushings, Misaligned wheel assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF and invert the robot.

  • Clean wheels: Remove hair and debris from drive wheels and their axles.
  • Service caster: Remove the front caster, clean the axle and socket, and reinstall. Do not use oil unless specified by Shark; most parts are designed to run dry.
  • Test movement: Spin wheels and caster by hand to confirm smooth, quiet operation.

If squeaking persists and comes from inside a wheel, replace the affected wheel assembly.
