Possible Causes

Failed left or right drive motor, Broken drive wheel gearbox, Disconnected wheel motor harness, Burned H‑bridge driver on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the main power and remove the robot from the dock before flipping it over.

  • 1. Inspect drive wheels: Turn the robot upside down. Manually rotate both drive wheels. They should turn smoothly with some resistance. If one is locked or very rough, debris may be jammed in the wheel well.
  • 2. Clear debris: Use tweezers or a small brush to remove hair, threads, or dirt from around the wheel axles and inside the wheel wells of the SilverCrest drive module.
  • 3. Test wheel movement: Power the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle while holding it in the air. Observe whether both wheels attempt to spin. If one wheel does not move at all, its motor or gearbox is likely faulty.
  • 4. Check wiring (advanced): Remove the bottom cover (after removing screws) and locate the left/right wheel motor connectors on the main PCB. Ensure they are firmly seated and not damaged.
  • 5. Replace faulty module: If a wheel is still dead or grinding, replace the corresponding SilverCrest drive wheel motor module. If both wheels are dead, suspect the main control board.
