Possible Causes
Stuck front bumper, Broken bumper spring, Faulty bumper microswitches or IR sensors, Disconnected bumper harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot before manipulating the bumper.
- 1. Check bumper movement: Gently press the front bumper of the SilverCrest robot. It should move in and spring back freely across its full range. If it sticks, inspect for trapped debris.
- 2. Clean bumper gap: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and crumbs from the gap between the bumper and the body.
- 3. Test switches (basic): With the robot on and in standby, gently tap the bumper and listen for clicks from internal switches. If the bumper feels loose or does not click, the switch assembly may be damaged.
- 4. Inspect harness (advanced): Remove the top or bottom cover (depending on model) to access the bumper sensor board. Ensure the cable to the main PCB is secure.
- 5. Replace bumper sensor: If E10 persists and the bumper does not register impacts correctly, replace the SilverCrest front bumper sensor assembly.
