Possible Causes
Obstructed or dirty top camera lens, Damaged camera ribbon cable, Failed camera module, Firmware incompatibility after update
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot before cleaning the lens.
- 1. Clean camera lens: On camera‑based SilverCrest models, gently wipe the top camera lens with a microfiber cloth. Remove any smudges.
- 2. Adequate lighting: Ensure the room is moderately lit. Very dark environments can cause navigation errors.
- 3. Reboot and retry mapping: Power cycle the robot and start a new mapping run from the dock. Check the app for camera feed if supported.
- 4. Check firmware: In the SilverCrest app, verify that the firmware is up to date. Apply any recommended updates.
- 5. Inspect camera cable (advanced): Open the top cover and check the camera ribbon cable connection to the main PCB. If damaged or loose, reseat or replace the SilverCrest camera module.
