Possible Causes

Corrupted map data in memory, Excessive obstacles or moved furniture, Camera or sensor misalignment, Firmware bug affecting navigation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No disassembly is required for basic troubleshooting.

  • 1. Clear map data: In the Trifo app, go to Map Management or Device Settings and delete the existing map. Confirm the reset.
  • 2. Prepare environment: Remove temporary obstacles (chairs pulled out, toys, cables) and open interior doors to allow a full mapping run.
  • 3. Start a full cleaning: Place the robot on the dock, then start a full-house cleaning so it can rebuild the map from scratch.
  • 4. Check sensors: Ensure the camera lens (if equipped), cliff sensors, and bumper are clean and unobstructed, as they all contribute to localization.
  • 5. Firmware update: Check for firmware updates in the app and install them to address known navigation issues.

Warning: If the robot continues to spin in place or drive erratically after map reset and sensor cleaning, there may be a deeper hardware issue (IMU, camera, or main PCB) requiring professional diagnosis.
