Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around main brush, Clogged brush bearings, Worn main brush motor, Obstructed brush gearbox
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.
- Remove the main brush: Open the brush guard on the underside and lift out the main roller brush.
- Clean the brush: Cut and remove hair, threads, and fibers from the bristles and ends using the cleaning tool supplied with the robot or scissors.
- Clean brush bearings: Remove the end caps from the brush (if removable) and clear any debris from the bearing seats. Wipe with a dry cloth.
- Inspect brush housing: Check the brush cavity and gearbox opening for compacted dust or foreign objects. Vacuum or brush out thoroughly.
- Reinstall and test: Refit the brush and guard, ensuring they click into place. Turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle.
- If E5 persists: The main brush motor or internal gearbox may be failing. Replacement of the main brush motor assembly is recommended and usually requires removing the bottom cover and unscrewing the brush motor module.
