Possible Causes

Debris jammed in left or right drive wheel, Hair wrapped around wheel axle, Damaged wheel encoder, Failing drive motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the robot and remove it from the dock. Do not run the wheels while your fingers are near them.

  • Inspect both drive wheels: Flip the robot over. Manually press each wheel up and down and spin it. It should move smoothly and spring back.
  • Remove debris: Use tweezers to pull out hair, threads, or debris from around the wheel treads and axles. Check the wheel wells for trapped objects (toys, cords, etc.).
  • Check for stiffness: If a wheel feels stiff or grinds when turned, more debris may be inside the wheel module. Carefully remove the bottom cover (if you are comfortable doing so) to access the wheel module and clean around the axle and gears.
  • Test on a flat surface: Place the robot on a hard, level floor and start a cleaning cycle. Avoid thick rugs while testing.
  • If C3 persists: The wheel motor or encoder may be defective. Replacement of the wheel module is typically required and is a more advanced repair. Contact Wyze support or a professional repair service.
