Robot vacuum reports 'Error 15' / voice prompt 'Error 15: LDS communication error' and cannot map or navigate.

Safety first: Turn off the robot and remove it from the dock. Avoid touching exposed circuitry with wet hands.

• 1. Power cycle:
  • Turn the robot off for 1 minute, then back on.
• 2. Listen for LDS spin:
  • At startup, listen for the LDS turret spinning.
  • If it does not spin at all, there may be a power or communication issue.
• 3. Check LDS cable (advanced):
  • Remove the top cover to access the LDS module.
  • Inspect the ribbon cable between the LDS and mainboard; reseat both ends.
  • Check for bent pins or corrosion on the connectors.
• 4. Replace LDS module:
  • If the cable is intact but communication errors persist, replace the LDS module.
• 5. If a new LDS does not resolve the issue:
  • The mainboard LDS interface may be defective; replace the mainboard.
