Possible Causes
Dock IR emitter blocked or dirty, Robot front IR receiver window dirty, Dock placed in poor location, IR receiver board or cable fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dock before cleaning it.
- 1. Clean IR windows: Wipe the front of the dock and the robot's front IR window with a soft, dry cloth.
- 2. Reposition dock: Place the dock against a flat wall with at least 0.5 m (1.5 ft) clearance on each side and 1.5 m (5 ft) clear in front. Avoid direct sunlight on the dock.
- 3. Check dock power: Ensure the dock's power indicator is lit. Try another outlet if necessary.
- 4. Manual docking test: Place the robot 1–2 meters in front of the dock and press the Home button. Observe whether it drives straight toward the dock.
- 5. Internal check (advanced): Open the robot and verify the front IR receiver board is firmly connected to the main board.
- 6. Replace IR receiver or dock: If the robot cannot see the dock despite good placement and clean windows, replace the robot's IR receiver board or the dock, testing one at a time.
Warning: Do not cover the dock with fabric or place it behind furniture; this blocks IR signals and can cause navigation errors.
