Possible Causes
Mop plate not fully inserted, Mop plate latch damaged, Mop cloth dragging and catching on obstacles, Mop detection switch or magnet misaligned
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and remove the water tank/mop module.
- 1. Remove mop plate: Slide or press the release tabs and pull the mop plate straight out from the rear or underside (model-dependent).
- 2. Inspect mop cloth: Ensure the mop pad is installed correctly, fully attached to the Velcro or clips, and not hanging loose.
- 3. Check for damage: Examine the mop plate rails and latches for cracks or deformation that might prevent proper seating.
- 4. Clean detection area: Wipe the area where the mop plate engages the robot, including any small switches or magnetic contacts.
- 5. Reinstall firmly: Slide the mop plate back in until you hear or feel a click. Tug gently to confirm it is locked.
- 6. Test without obstacles: Place the robot on a flat, hard floor and start a mopping mode. If E9 recurs, the mop detection switch or sensor may need adjustment or replacement.
Warning: Do not force the mop plate into place; misalignment can break the latch or damage the detection switch.
