Possible Causes
Hair wrapped around brush bearings, Worn main brush end bearings, Debris inside brush gearbox, Stripped gears in brush motor assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and flip it over.
- 1. Remove main brush: Open the brush cover and take out the roller.
- 2. Clean bearings and end caps: Remove hair and debris from both ends of the brush and from the bearing seats. Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
- 3. Inspect brush housing: Look for foreign objects (stones, screws, hard plastic) inside the brush chamber and remove them.
- 4. Run without brush: With the brush removed and cover closed, briefly run the robot. If the grinding noise persists, the brush motor gearbox is likely damaged.
- 5. Replace brush or motor assembly: If noise disappears without the brush, replace the main brush. If noise remains, replace the main brush motor/gearbox module.
Warning: Do not continue using the robot with loud grinding; this can lead to complete motor failure and further damage.
