Possible Causes
Dust and hair in wheel bearings, Worn wheel bushings, Slightly misaligned wheel axle, Internal gearbox wear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and place it upside down on a soft surface.
- 1. Spin wheels by hand: Rotate each drive wheel and listen for squeaks or grinding.
- 2. Clean around axles: Use tweezers and a brush to remove hair and dust from around the wheel axles and suspension joints.
- 3. Check for wobble: Gently wiggle each wheel side to side. Excessive play indicates worn bushings or bearings.
- 4. Limited lubrication (if allowed): If the manufacturer permits, apply a tiny amount of dry PTFE lubricant to the external axle area only, avoiding the tire surface.
- 5. Replace wheel module: If noise persists or the wheel feels rough, replace the affected drive wheel module.
Warning: Do not use oil-based lubricants; they attract dust and can damage plastic components.
