Amana
Cloud / Server Communication Error
Thermostat displays E20 and cannot complete Wi‑Fi setup or connect to Amana cloud services

Possible Causes
Internet connection down at router, DNS or firewall blocking thermostat traffic, Outdated thermostat firmware, Amana cloud service outage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No electrical work is required; this is a network issue.
- Step 1 – Check internet: Confirm other devices in the home can access the internet. If not, reboot your modem and router.
- Step 2 – Reboot router and thermostat: Power cycle your router and then power cycle the thermostat by turning off the HVAC breaker for 1–2 minutes.
- Step 3 – Verify Wi‑Fi signal: Ensure the thermostat has a strong Wi‑Fi signal (typically at least 2–3 bars). Move the router or add a Wi‑Fi extender if needed.
- Step 4 – Check router security: Ensure that outbound connections are not blocked by firewall rules and that the router allows standard HTTPS traffic. Disable any overly restrictive parental controls temporarily.
- Step 5 – Retry setup: Use the thermostat or Amana app to repeat the Wi‑Fi and account linking process. If E20 persists, check Amana’s support site for any reported cloud outages.
When to call a professional: For persistent network issues, contact your ISP or Amana support.
