Thermostat backlight is very dim or flickers, but unit otherwise works

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the thermostat.

• Adjust brightness: In display settings, increase brightness and disable any aggressive power-saving dimming modes.
• Reseat thermostat: Remove and reinstall the thermostat on the sub-base to ensure solid electrical contact.
• Check for heat: Ensure the thermostat is not overheating, which can cause dimming; relocate if necessary.

Note: If dimming persists and worsens, the display assembly is failing and the thermostat should be replaced.
