Ariston
Poor Temperature Control / Overshoot
Room temperature overshoots the setpoint by several degrees before the heating turns off.

Possible Causes
Thermostat installed in wrong location, Incorrect control algorithm (on/off vs modulating) selected, No boiler minimum modulation configured, Slow-response underfloor heating without proper anticipation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No mains work usually required.
- Relocate thermostat: Move the thermostat away from drafts, direct sunlight, and heat sources. Place it in the main living area at about 1.5 m height.
- Adjust control mode: In installer settings, select a modulating control (OpenTherm) if supported, or enable TPI (time proportional integral) control for on/off systems.
- Enable floor sensor control: For underfloor heating, use a floor sensor and appropriate maximum floor temperature to reduce overshoot.
- Fine-tune parameters: Adjust cycle rate, hysteresis, or proportional band settings as recommended in the Ariston manual.
