Possible Causes

Receiver not powered, RF interference from other devices, Excessive distance or metal obstructions, Faulty RF transceiver in thermostat or receiver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before removing receiver covers. RF pairing itself is low risk but receiver wiring is at mains voltage.

Steps to resolve:

  • 1. Check receiver power: Confirm the receiver LEDs are lit. If not, check the fused spur, circuit breaker, and internal fuse if fitted.
  • 2. Reduce distance and obstacles: Ensure the thermostat is within the recommended range of the receiver and not separated by thick concrete walls or metal cabinets.
  • 3. Re-pair devices: Put the receiver into pairing mode (press and hold the pairing button as per Baxi instructions) and then initiate pairing from the thermostat or Baxi app. Wait for confirmation LED or icon.
  • 4. Eliminate interference: Temporarily turn off nearby wireless devices (baby monitors, cordless phones, Wi‑Fi extenders) to see if pairing succeeds.
  • 5. Factory reset RF link: Perform a factory reset on both thermostat and receiver, then repeat the pairing process.

When to call a professional: If pairing repeatedly fails with correct procedure and good signal conditions, one of the RF modules is likely defective and should be replaced.
