Possible Causes
Unsupported Wi‑Fi band (5 GHz only network), Weak Wi‑Fi signal at thermostat location, Hidden SSID or complex security settings, Router using unsupported enterprise authentication
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No high‑voltage work is required. Do not open the thermostat housing.
- Check Wi‑Fi band: Ensure your router broadcasts a 2.4 GHz network. If you have separate 2.4/5 GHz SSIDs, connect the thermostat to the 2.4 GHz one.
- Signal strength: Stand near the thermostat with your phone and check Wi‑Fi signal. If weak, move the router closer or add a Wi‑Fi extender.
- SSID visibility: Temporarily unhide the SSID and disable special characters in the network name and password. Use WPA2‑PSK (AES) if possible.
- Guest/enterprise networks: Avoid guest networks with isolation or enterprise (802.1X) networks; use a standard home WPA2 network.
- Retry setup: In the Bosch app, delete the thermostat if previously added, then re‑add and follow the Wi‑Fi setup instructions carefully.
