Possible Causes
Failed Bosch outdoor temperature sensor (if wired), Open or shorted outdoor sensor cable, Loss of internet weather service (if using online data), Incorrect configuration of outdoor sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to the HVAC system before handling any sensor wiring.
- Determine sensor source: Check installer settings to see if the thermostat is using a wired Bosch outdoor sensor or internet weather data.
- If wired sensor:
- Inspect the outdoor sensor housing for physical damage or water ingress.
- Check the cable from thermostat to sensor for cuts or pinches.
- With power off, disconnect the sensor at the thermostat and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Bosch’s NTC chart. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
- If using internet weather:
- Verify Wi‑Fi and cloud connectivity (resolve any E01/E02 issues first).
- Ensure location settings in the Bosch app are correct.
- Wait and retry in case of temporary weather service outage.
- Reconfigure: In installer settings, disable the outdoor sensor if none is installed, or re‑enable and select the correct type if it is present.
