Possible Causes

Out of Zigbee range, Ally Gateway offline or not connected to internet, Zigbee network key mismatch, Metal obstacles blocking RF signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No hazardous voltages are involved for battery thermostats.

Steps:

  • Check gateway: Confirm the Ally Gateway has power and is connected to your router. Verify internet access on your phone.
  • Move gateway: Place the gateway centrally in the home, away from thick walls, metal cabinets, and large appliances.
  • Re‑pair thermostat: Put the thermostat into pairing mode and add it again in the Ally app. Ensure you remove any old entries first.
  • Add repeaters: If the thermostat is far from the gateway, consider adding a mains‑powered Zigbee device (e.g. a compatible smart plug) as a repeater between them.
  • Check for interference: Avoid placing Wi‑Fi routers directly next to the gateway; if possible, change Wi‑Fi or Zigbee channels to reduce overlap.
