Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical buttons, Contamination under keypad or touchscreen, Damaged touch sensor layer, Firmware glitch affecting UI
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the thermostat from the wall to avoid short circuits.
Steps to diagnose and fix:
- 1. Reboot the thermostat: Remove power for 30 seconds and restore. Test the buttons or touchscreen again.
- 2. Clean the surface: Wipe the front panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents or excessive moisture.
- 3. Check for physical damage: Inspect the glass or plastic front for cracks or warping that could affect touch sensitivity.
- 4. Firmware update: If possible, update the thermostat firmware via the app to correct any known UI bugs.
- 5. Replace thermostat front module: If the UI remains unresponsive and the model allows front-panel replacement, install a new Danfoss front module. Otherwise, replace the entire thermostat.
When to call a professional: For in-warranty devices or if internal damage is suspected, contact Danfoss support.
