Thermostat buttons or touchscreen are unresponsive or require very hard presses.

Safety first: Disconnect power or remove batteries before cleaning or opening the thermostat.

• Clean surface: Wipe the front panel with a slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Do not allow liquid to enter the device.
• Check for damage: Inspect for cracks or impact damage that may have affected the keypad or touchscreen.
• Reboot device: Power cycle the thermostat to clear any temporary software freeze.

If buttons remain unresponsive, the front panel or main PCB keypad contacts are likely damaged. Replacement of the thermostat front module is usually required.
