Possible Causes

Open circuit on switched live output, Disconnected boiler/valve wiring, Failed output sensing circuit on receiver PCB, Blown internal fuse or track

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This involves mains voltage. Isolate power at the consumer unit and verify before opening the receiver or wiring centre.

  • Check wiring centre: Inspect connections from the Drayton receiver (e.g. Heat HubR, SCR) to the boiler or zone valve. Tighten any loose terminals and repair damaged cables.
  • Continuity test: With power off, test continuity from the receiver's switched live terminal to the boiler/valve input. An open circuit indicates a wiring break.
  • Inspect receiver PCB: Look for blown tracks or internal fuses on the receiver. These are often not user-replaceable.
  • Replace receiver if needed: If wiring is sound but E13 persists and the output does not energise under demand, replace the Drayton receiver or Heat HubR.
