Loose LCD ribbon connector, Cracked LCD glass, Failed display driver IC, Moisture damage to display area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove power (batteries or mains) before opening the thermostat.
- Inspect for damage: Check the front of the thermostat for cracks or impact marks on the display.
- Reseat connectors: If accessible, gently press the LCD module and ribbon connector onto the PCB to ensure good contact. Do not use excessive force.
- Dry moisture: If condensation is present, allow the thermostat to dry in a warm, dry room for 24 hours before reapplying power.
- Replace front module: If the display remains faulty and E14 persists, replace the thermostat front module or complete thermostat, as the LCD and driver are not separately serviceable.
