Possible Causes
Failed RF transceiver module, Damaged RF antenna track on PCB, ESD damage to RF circuitry, Manufacturing defect in RF section
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the thermostat and receiver before handling.
- Rule out interference: Temporarily move the thermostat closer to the receiver (e.g. Wiser Heat Hub or Drayton RF receiver) and remove obvious sources of interference (Wi‑Fi routers, metal cabinets) between them.
- Factory reset: Perform a factory reset on both thermostat and receiver following the Drayton manual, then attempt pairing again.
- Check antenna damage: If accessible, inspect the thermostat PCB for a broken or cracked RF antenna track or damaged RF can. This usually requires removing the front cover and may void warranty.
- Replace faulty unit: If E6 persists after reset and relocation, the RF module is likely defective. Replace the thermostat or receiver (whichever shows the error) with a new Drayton unit and reconfigure the system.
