Possible Causes
Thermostat mounted near heat source, Incorrect control algorithm setting (on/off vs TPI), Slow-response radiators with no balancing, Faulty or miscalibrated room sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before relocating a mains thermostat.
- Check location: Ensure the Drayton thermostat is not above a radiator, in direct sunlight, or near draughts. Relocate to an internal wall about 1.5 m above floor level if necessary.
- Adjust settings: In the thermostat or Wiser app, select the recommended control mode (e.g. TPI or load compensation) for your boiler type.
- Balance system: Ensure radiators are balanced so that the room with the thermostat does not heat significantly faster than others.
- Sensor calibration: If supported, apply a small temperature offset in the thermostat settings to match an accurate reference thermometer.
