Possible Causes
Dehumidifier not wired to ACC or dehumidify terminals, Dehumidify mode disabled in ecobee, Incorrect dehumidifier type selected, Failed dehumidifier control board or compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to the dehumidifier and air handler before working on wiring.
- Step 1 – Enable dehumidification: In Installation Settings > Equipment, ensure dehumidification is enabled and configured correctly (with AC or standalone).
- Step 2 – Verify wiring: Confirm the dehumidifier control wires are connected to the correct ACC or dehumidify terminals on the ecobee and to the dehumidifier’s control input.
- Step 3 – Check humidity setpoint: Ensure the dehumidify setpoint is below the current indoor humidity.
- Step 4 – Test dehumidifier manually: Use the dehumidifier’s onboard controls or jumper its control terminals to verify it runs independently of the thermostat. If it does not, internal dehumidifier faults must be repaired.
