Ecobee Time Synchronization / Time Zone Misconfiguration

Thermostat shows incorrect time or schedule does not run at expected times

Possible Causes

Incorrect time zone set in ecobee, Loss of internet time sync, Manual time override, Firmware bug

Safety: No electrical hazards.

Step 1 – Verify time zone: On ecobee or in the app, ensure the correct time zone and location are set.
Step 2 – Check internet connection: Confirm the thermostat is online so it can sync time from ecobee servers.
Step 3 – Reboot thermostat: Remove it from the backplate for 30 seconds and reinstall.
Step 4 – Recreate schedule: Delete and recreate the schedule if events are misaligned.
