Possible Causes
Broken sensor trace on PCB, Failed sensor interface IC, Cold solder joint on sensor connector, Moisture damage around sensor area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the thermostat.
- Visual inspection: Open the housing and inspect the PCB around the sensor area for corrosion, moisture, or cracked solder joints.
- Drying: If condensation is present, allow the unit to dry in a warm, dry room for 24 hours, then test again.
- Gently press PCB: Lightly press around the sensor area while powered (only by a qualified person) to see if the error is intermittent, indicating a bad solder joint.
- Replace thermostat: Because the sensor is usually integrated, repair is not practical. Replace the thermostat if Er1 persists.
