Possible Causes

Impact or drop, Overtightening mounting screws, UV aging of plastic, Incorrect removal/installation technique

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: If internal live parts are exposed on a mains-powered thermostat, isolate power immediately.

  • Assess exposure: If any internal wiring or PCB is visible, do not operate the device.
  • Secure temporarily: If heating is critical, temporarily cover exposed parts with insulating tape and ensure no one can touch the device, but this is only a very short-term measure.
  • Replace housing/device: Replace the thermostat or TRV with a new unit. Housing parts are rarely sold separately.
  • Review mounting: When installing the replacement, avoid overtightening screws and follow Eurotronic’s mounting instructions.
