Thermostat buttons or touch interface do not respond
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Stuck or damaged buttons, Contamination under touch panel, Firmware freeze, Faulty keypad/touch controller on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No mains exposure is needed if you do not remove the thermostat.
Steps to restore button/touch response:
- 1. Reboot the thermostat:
- Turn off power at the breaker for 1–2 minutes and restore.
- 2. Try app control:
- Use the Fibaro app to change temperature and modes.
- If app control works, the issue is limited to the local interface.
- 3. Clean the surface:
- Wipe the front panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dirt or residue that may affect touch sensitivity.
- 4. Check for physical damage:
- Inspect for cracks or impact marks on the front panel.
- 5. Replace front interface module:
- If buttons remain unresponsive, the keypad/touch controller is likely faulty and the front module or entire thermostat should be replaced.
When to call a professional: If the thermostat is part of a managed building system, coordinate replacement with the system integrator to maintain configuration.
