Possible Causes
Failed IR/proximity sensor on GLAS sensor board, Obstruction or dirt over sensor window, Firmware bug in occupancy algorithm, Internal connector issue to sensor board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No high‑voltage work is needed.
- Step 1 – Clean sensor area: Wipe the front of the thermostat gently with a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust or smudges that may block the sensor.
- Step 2 – Check settings: In GLAS settings, verify that occupancy detection and any related energy‑saving modes are enabled.
- Step 3 – Test motion detection: Stand directly in front of the thermostat and move your hand slowly within 1–3 feet to see if the display wakes or status changes.
- Step 4 – Reboot and update: Power cycle the thermostat and install any available firmware updates.
- Step 5 – Replace thermostat: If P030 remains and occupancy features never respond, the internal occupancy sensor has failed. Replace the GLAS thermostat.
