F.17
Glow-worm
Calibration / Offset Error
Thermostat displays F.17 and shows incorrect room temperature
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Incorrect temperature offset configured, Firmware bug in sensor calibration, Age‑related drift of internal NTC sensor, Thermostat mounted in poor location (draughts, heat sources)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Only user‑level configuration is required.
Steps:
- Place a reliable digital thermometer near the thermostat and allow both to stabilise for at least 15 minutes.
- Compare readings. If the thermostat consistently reads higher or lower by a fixed amount, adjust the temperature offset in the thermostat settings (often called calibration or room temp correction).
- Relocate the thermostat away from radiators, TVs, direct sunlight, or external doors that can skew readings.
- After adjustment, monitor for several hours to confirm that the displayed temperature is now accurate.
Remedy:
- If F.17 persists and the thermostat cannot be calibrated within a reasonable range, the internal sensor may be defective. Replace the thermostat head.
