Possible Causes
Loose power connection at backplate, Intermittent 24 V transformer, Failing internal memory, Frequent manual power cycling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate mains power before checking wiring to backplates or transformers.
Steps:
- Check that the thermostat is firmly seated on its backplate and that the spring contacts are not bent or corroded.
- Inspect the wiring to any external transformer or wiring center supplying the thermostat. Tighten loose terminals.
- Avoid switching the boiler/thermostat power off at the mains every night; use the thermostat's own scheduling instead.
- Update firmware if available to address any known memory bugs.
Remedy:
- If resets continue despite stable power, the internal memory or power conditioning is defective. Replace the thermostat head.
