Possible Causes
Phone not on same Wi‑Fi network, VPN enabled on phone, Router client isolation enabled, mDNS/UPnP disabled on router
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: N6 is typically a network discovery issue.
- Use same network: Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi‑Fi network (same SSID and band) that the Nest will use.
- Disable VPN: Turn off any VPN or private DNS apps on your phone during setup.
- Check router settings: Disable client isolation or AP isolation, and enable mDNS/UPnP if required by the Nest app.
- Try QR/manual code: Use the QR code or manual entry code on the Nest display to add the device in the app.
If N6 persists, consult your router documentation or ISP for help enabling local device discovery.
