Nest thermostat loses Wi‑Fi connection intermittently

Note: Intermittent Wi‑Fi does not usually affect local HVAC control.

• Improve signal strength: Move the router closer, add a mesh node, or reposition antennas to improve coverage near the thermostat.
• Change Wi‑Fi channel: Log into your router and select a less congested channel on 2.4 GHz (e.g., 1, 6, or 11).
• Reduce interference: Keep the router away from microwaves, cordless phones, and thick walls.
• Check Nest ventilation: Ensure the thermostat is not in a recessed box or covered, which can cause overheating and radio issues.

If dropouts persist while other devices are stable, the Nest Wi‑Fi module may be failing and the display may need replacement.
