Possible Causes

Failed RTC crystal or chip, Dead or missing backup capacitor/battery, Blocked NTP time sync due to network issues, Firmware bug in timekeeping

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No high‑voltage exposure for this fault; do not open the unit unless necessary.

  • Step 1 – Enable network time:
    • Ensure the thermostat is connected to Wi‑Fi and the Gosund cloud.
    • In settings, enable automatic time synchronization if available.
  • Step 2 – Check time zone:
    • Verify the correct time zone and daylight saving settings in the app.
  • Step 3 – Power stability:
    • Confirm that the thermostat is not losing 24VAC power frequently (see E06 steps).
  • Step 4 – Firmware update:
    • Update firmware via the Gosund app to correct any known RTC bugs.
  • Step 5 – Replace thermostat if RTC hardware is bad:
    • If E14 persists and time drifts significantly even with stable power and network, the RTC hardware on the main PCB is likely defective.
    • Replace the thermostat.
