Heatit
Poor Temperature Regulation / Overshoot
Room temperature overshoots setpoint by several degrees before heating turns off

Possible Causes
Incorrect control algorithm settings, Sensor placement near heat source, High floor thermal mass, Aggressive PID or hysteresis settings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal wiring work is required for configuration changes.
Steps to troubleshoot:
- 1. Check sensor placement:
- Ensure the internal or external room sensor is not near radiators, windows, or drafts.
- 2. Adjust control parameters:
- Enter the installer menu and look for regulation mode (e.g. PWM, hysteresis).
- Increase hysteresis slightly or switch to a more stable mode recommended by Heatit for your floor type.
- 3. Use floor sensor limit:
- Enable floor sensor control and set a reasonable max floor temperature to reduce overshoot.
- 4. Allow learning period:
- Some Heatit models adapt over time; allow several days of operation after changes.
