Possible Causes

Tripped circuit breaker, Loose live or neutral at thermostat, Faulty supply cable to wall box, Internal fuse or power supply failure in thermostat

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: You will be working near mains voltage. Turn OFF the circuit breaker before removing the thermostat. Use a qualified electrician if you are not trained.

Steps to troubleshoot:

  • 1. Check breaker and RCD:
    • Verify that the heating/thermostat circuit breaker is ON and any RCD has not tripped.
  • 2. Inspect wiring at thermostat:
    • Remove the Heatit thermostat from the wall box.
    • Confirm that the L (live) and N (neutral) conductors are present and firmly connected.
  • 3. Test for voltage:
    • With power ON (only if you are qualified), measure voltage between L and N at the thermostat terminals.
    • If no voltage is present, the issue is in the supply wiring or breaker.
  • 4. Replace thermostat if supply is OK:
    • If correct voltage is present but the display remains dead, the internal power supply of the thermostat has failed.
    • Replace the thermostat with a new Heatit smart thermostat.
