Thermostat shows much higher room temperature than actual

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before relocating or rewiring sensors.

  • Use a reliable room thermometer to compare with thermostat reading.
• 2. Check installation location:
  • Ensure the thermostat or external sensor is not above a radiator, TV, or other heat source.
• 3. Relocate sensor:
  • If using an external room sensor, move it to a more representative location.
• 4. Use floor sensor control:
  • Switch to floor sensor control with room limit if room sensor cannot be relocated.
• 5. Replace thermostat or sensor if drifted:
  • If readings remain inaccurate, replace the internal or external sensor.
