Hive hub connectivity failure

Possible Causes
Hub not powered, Ethernet cable disconnected, Router not assigning IP address, Faulty Hive Hub main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The Hive Hub is low-voltage and safe to handle. Do not open the casing.
- Check power and cables: Ensure the hub power adapter is firmly plugged in and the LED lights up. Confirm the Ethernet cable is fully inserted into both the hub and router.
- Reboot network: Power cycle the router and then the Hive Hub. Wait 5–10 minutes for the hub to reconnect.
- Check router settings: Ensure DHCP is enabled on your router and that it is not blocking the hub's MAC address. Check for any parental controls or firewall rules that might block outbound connections.
- Relocate hub: Place the hub away from the router’s antennas and other RF sources to reduce interference with Hive devices.
- Factory reset hub: If still offline, perform a hub reset following Hive’s instructions (usually holding a reset pin for a set time) and then re-add it in the Hive app.
- When to call a pro: If the hub never shows a stable status LED or cannot be discovered after reset, it may need replacement via Hive support.
