Possible Causes

Hub too far from device, Zigbee channel interference, Device previously paired to another account, Hub Zigbee radio fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Pairing is low-voltage and safe; do not open devices.

  • Move closer to hub: Place the new device within a few meters of the Hive Hub during pairing.
  • Reset device: Perform a factory reset on the thermostat or receiver (per Hive instructions) to clear previous pairings.
  • Check hub capacity: Ensure the hub has not reached its maximum number of Zigbee devices.
  • Change Zigbee channel (advanced): If your router’s Wi‑Fi heavily overlaps the Zigbee channel, consult Hive support about changing the Zigbee channel.
  • When to call a pro: If multiple devices cannot join, the hub’s Zigbee radio may be faulty and require replacement.
